Day 2 of the Triple A European Championship Tournament witnessed much more score-able conditions, demonstrated by the 4 players who scored under par. Both categories saw much lower scoring from the players, making it that much closer at the top of the leaderboard.
In the U21 Boys, Harry Thomas climbed up to first scoring-2 for the day putting him level Par overall. However Leon Sedlitz had a phenomenal round of 66 with 8 birdies and was highlighted by an eagle on 17. His relentless and efficient playing put him back into the race for the title and joint first of the leaderboard with an overall score of level Par. In conclusion it is still so close at the top of the leaderboard, the final day could see a lot of drama as two players are tied for 1st place.
Moving on to the U21 Girls, Cami Beuret maintained her advantage and consistency with a score of 73 in her 2nd round. She sits comfortably at the top with 2nd place 4 strokes behind, giving her all the momentum going into the final round.
As the weather eased off on Day 2, our golfers demonstrated more technical and accurate shots as they perseviered through this challenging course. Many golfers were allowed to be more direct and aggressive with their golf today resulting in lower scores across the leaderboard.
As we head into the final day of the Jason Floyd Golf Academy’s Triple A European Championship it remains extremely competitive in the boys category with 3 shots separating 1st and 5th. It truly will all come down to the final round here at the San Roque Golf Course, where the battle it out to claim the trophy!
