Highlights of Day 1 – Triple A European Championship Tournament

The 1st Day of the Triple A European Championship at The San Roque Golf Club, home of the Jason Floyd Golf Academy. Is set to bring a fantastic and beautiful atmosphere as the players in both the boys and girls in their respective categories fight for the trophy.

In the U21 Boys, Filip Lukas scored -2 for the first day taking him to the top of the leaderboard. Filip delivered a sensational round, highlighted by a 2 amazing birdies on the 3rd and 4th holes. His accuracy and determination has ensured his place at the top of the leader board. However players such as Thaddeus Huainigg trails by just 3 shots and Roman Andreas by 4 behind, putting the pressure on Lukas as we head into the 2nd round of the tournament.

For the U21 Girls leaderboard, Cami Beuret took the lead after an impressive 1st Day of scoring. Scoring a 72 in Day 1 she sits at level par and 3 strokes ahead of second place. Cami had an extreemly solid performance making 3 birdies throughout the day. As we move to round 2, Cami’s consistency will become crucial to maintain her lead.

As the wind significantly picked up, players faced completely different conditions, with many having to adjust their strategy to navigate the tricky greens and challenging wind conditions. Across the board, players showed resilience and adaptability, proving how this tournament tests the skill and mentality of a golfer.

The conditions were extremely tough for Day 1, as players took challenging winds. Many players had to adjust their tactics and clubs to fight their way around the course

Day 2 will be sure to see more action as it remains close in both categories, truly every shot counts.
