Day 1 Recap – The Triple A European Open at San Roque Golf & Resort Course
The opening round of the Triple A European Open at the San Roque Golf & Resort Course began yesterday under beautiful conditions providing many young golfers the opportunity for low scores. This is reflected in the leaderboard where several players delivered standout performances setting the stage for an exciting day 2 of the Triple A European Open.
U21 Boys Category:
Filip Lukas and Benjamin Zyla emerged as the leaders from day 1, both having very impressive rounds of 69 (-3) for the day. Their rounds were highlighted by remarkable birdies in challenging situations and showing precision and graft. Trailing closely behind, Thaddeus Huainigg finished just 1 stroke behind the leaders after behind 4 over at one point in his round. An exceptional round of golf from Thaddeus, finishing off his round with an eagle on the 18th to put him 2 under par (70) for the day.
U21 Girls Category:
In the girls’ division Maria Munoz Escudero took command with a strong score of 70 (-2), placing her two strokes ahead of second place Maria Moczarska at 72 (level par). As the Triple A European Open progresses, maintaining this standard of play is essential in these scorable weather conditions.
U15 Mixed Category:
Finally in the U15 mixed category Kai Notteboom leads by 5 shots with a score of 2 under (70) in his first round, followed by Sean Widor who shot 3 over (75).
