Day 2 of the Triple A European Open brought excellent weather and bright sunshine to San Roque Club, but the testing winds remained a major factor. As the day progressed, gusts grew stronger, demanding precision and patience from the field and setting up a thrilling leaderboard heading into the final round.

U21 Boys – Hawkins Takes Control
Antoni Hawkins moves into the outright lead after a composed second round featuring four birdies, with a steady level-par back nine helping him edge ahead in difficult afternoon winds. His consistency across both days has put him firmly in control going into the final round.
Oliver Camargo Jones sits just one shot behind in second after producing the best round of the boys’ field on Day 2 — an impressive 71 (-1). With six birdies in his second round, he showed attacking intent and kept himself right in contention for the title.
Tied for third are Thaddeus Huainigg, Ernie Elford and Ewan Widor. Huainigg closed his round strongly with a level-par back nine, while Elford showed remarkable consistency by carding matching rounds of 75. Widor delivered one of the standout performances of the day — battling to 4-over on the front nine before producing a stunning 4-under back nine to sign for a level-par 72 and climb into contention.
Special mention:
Paddy Quill produced a moment of brilliance with an eagle on Hole 14, adding to what continues to be one of the most exciting scoring holes of the tournament.
U21 Girls – Mejer Produces Round of the Tournament
Ebba Mejer stormed into the lead with the round of the tournament so far — a sensational 69 (-3), the lowest round across all categories this week. Her second round included seven birdies — the most recorded in any round of the event — and a superb 4-under back nine performance. That incredible display sees her take a three-shot lead heading into the final day.
Olivia Costello sits in second after another strong performance, recording six birdies in her second round and shooting 1-under par on the front nine to keep the pressure firmly on the leader.
Stella Colombo made one of the biggest moves of the day, climbing six positions after a fantastic level-par round featuring five birdies, while Maria Moczarska sits fourth after a steady second round that included two birdies and a level-par back nine.
